Riley to experience Da Vinci in Starz's 'Demons'

LONDON -- British thesp Tom Riley will have Leonardo Da Vinci within the Starz skein "Da Vinci's Devils." Show has been co-created with BBC Worldwide Prods. and Riley's role may be the first casting for that series. "Da Vinci's Devils," compiled by David S. Goyer, is charged like a historic fantasy and states recount the untold story from the great renaissance genius throughout his turbulent youth in Florence. Goyer stated, "Considering that Da Vinci was the model for that Renaissance Guy, they were incredibly large footwear to fill. "Leonardo needed to be wise, witty and extremely confident without finding as arrogant. "Younger crowd needed to be tormented, because, like a true visionary and polymath, he was ostracized for his ideas around he was celebrated. "Tom arrived and could very easily mix all individuals elements. The moment he finished his audition, we understood we'd found our guy." Riley is a regular at London's Royal Court Theater, featuring in "The Vertical Hour" and "The Lady Before." On Broadway he was nominated through the Drama Desk Honours for his perf as Septimus Hodge in "Arcadia." Movie roles have incorporated "A Couple of Days in September," "I Would Like Chocolate" and "Happy Ever Afters." On Television he plays Laurence Shepherd in ITV hospital drama "Monroe."
